🐾 Welcome home — this is the Network’s own home

One share can save a life.

The Animal Rescue Network connects dogs at risk in shelters with the people who can change everything for them — adopters, fosters, and no-kill rescues all across the United States.

This site is where the mission lives: Petey’s story, how rescue really happens here, and the three paths in. The daily action — urgent dogs, updates, and happy endings as they unfold — gathers in our Facebook group, where thousands of kind people see every dog at once.

A real home for the mission

The Network lives here now. The community gathers in the group.

Think of it like a house with two rooms — both matter, and you’re welcome in both. This site is the front porch and the family album: open to anyone, anytime, no account needed. The Facebook group is the busy kitchen table, where the day-to-day rescue work happens together.

The heart of this place

Petey’s Story

Petey’s story starts down south, after a hurricane. He was a homeless shelter dog — one good boy with no home to go to, in a place where time runs short.

Anthony found him listed online and knew. He had Petey brought all the way home — and that one rescue changed everything. Petey didn’t just get a home. He became the reason thousands of other dogs would get seen, shared, and saved.

That’s why this Network exists. On January 28, 2020, Anthony started this community so no dog’s story would have to depend on luck alone — it could depend on all of us.

Petey has since passed, and we miss him with full, grateful hearts. His photo still watches over the group — sleeping in his bed on our cover — a quiet reminder of what one act of love can start.

“Every dog deserves what Petey got: a soft bed, a full belly, and someone who chose them.” — The promise behind every post in the Network

Three ways in

Adopt. Foster. Partner. Every path saves dogs.

You don’t need to do everything. You just need to pick your path — and it all happens inside the group, where the urgent dogs are posted every day.

Adopt

Give a dog a forever home — a bed of their own, a routine full of love, and a family to belong to for life. Adopting through the community means you’re never doing it alone: members who know the dog, the rescue, and the road home are right there in the thread with you.

How adopting works here

  • 1.Watch the group — urgent dogs are posted with their story, location, and needs.
  • 2.When a dog steals your heart, comment on their post and say you’re interested.
  • 3.The Network helps connect you with the shelter or rescue partner for next steps.
  • 4.If your dog is far away, members help line up transport — distance is rarely the end of the story.

Foster

Open your home for a little while — and save a life for good. A foster home is a bridge: a safe, calm place where a dog can decompress, be loved, and be seen clearly by the forever family looking for exactly them. Even a short stay makes room, buys precious time, and changes a dog’s whole story.

How fostering works here

  • 1.Join the group and watch for dogs who need a foster home.
  • 2.Raise your hand in the comments — where you are and what you can offer.
  • 3.The community and rescue partner help match you and arrange the dog’s arrival, often with transport help.
  • 4.Love them like your own while the Network shares them toward their forever home — and yes, falling in love and adopting your foster is a beloved outcome here.

Rescue Partners

Are you with a no-kill rescue? Partner with the Network, and you don’t carry a hard case alone. When you commit to a dog, you get a whole community behind you — reach, pledges, foster homes, and drivers — so your rescue can say “yes” to one more dog, and then one more after that.

How partnering works here

  • 1.Join the group and introduce your rescue and the work you do.
  • 2.Urgent dogs are posted where ~9,000 engaged members will see them.
  • 3.Members rally: shares widen the reach, pledges support care, fosters step forward.
  • 4.Coordinate placement and transport together in the thread — until the dog is safe and settled.

Simple, and it works

How a Rescue Happens Here

No forms to file. No fees to join. Just a community that moves fast when a dog needs help — the same warm pattern, again and again: a dog is seen, a community rallies, and a plan carries that dog home. Tap each step to walk through it:

Share

One share puts a dog in front of a whole new circle of people. It takes two seconds — and it’s how most happy endings start.

Pledge

Members pledge support toward a dog’s care, helping rescues say yes and cover what a dog needs to get safe.

Foster & Adopt

Homes are the finish line. Fosters bridge the gap; adopters make it forever. Both begin with a comment on a post.

Transport

Drivers help dogs travel — sometimes across town, sometimes across states — from the shelter to safety, foster, or home.

What we’re all working toward

Happy Endings Live Here

Every share, pledge, ride, and foster night is aimed at the same finish line. These are the kinds of endings this community creates together — the moments members celebrate in the group when a dog is safe, settled, and home.

The First Night Home

A dog who was running out of time curls up in a real bed — maybe for the first time — while a new family sits nearby, already in love. It’s quiet, it’s ordinary, and it’s everything.

The Foster Who Stayed

A dog comes for “just a few weeks” — and somewhere between the first walk and the favorite spot on the couch, the foster family realizes home was already found. The happiest kind of change of plans.

The Long Ride Home

Driver after kind driver carries a dog across towns and state lines, each leg a link in a chain of strangers who refused to look away — until the last door opens and it’s family on the other side.

The Second Chance

An older dog, a shy dog, a dog who just needed time and patience — getting exactly that. Seen clearly at last, chosen on purpose, and loved for precisely who they are.

Questions New Friends Ask

New here? Welcome — truly. These are the questions almost everyone asks first:

No — none at all. Most help here is beautifully simple: share a post, welcome a new member, offer a ride, open your home when you’re ready. If you care about dogs, you already qualify, and the community will guide you as you go.
Absolutely — and it’s a big difference. Sharing is how dogs get seen by the person who can adopt or foster. Pledging helps rescues say yes, transport help gets dogs home, and encouragement keeps fosters going. Many happy endings here were made by people who never took a dog home.
Often, no. This community regularly helps arrange transport — volunteers driving legs of a journey so a dog can travel from a shelter to a foster, a rescue partner, or an adopter in another state. If a dog has your heart, say so in their post and let the Network problem-solve with you.
A pledge is a member’s promise of support toward a specific dog’s care. Pledges add up in a dog’s thread, and together they help a rescue partner confidently commit to that dog — knowing the community stands behind them and the dog’s needs.
A safe place to sleep, regular meals, kindness, and a little patience while the dog settles and their forever family is found. You’ll be connected through the group and the rescue partner involved, and fellow members are a comment away with advice and cheering-on.
Join the group and introduce your rescue — who you are, where you are, and the dogs you serve. From there, urgent dogs get in front of ~9,000 members ready to share, pledge, foster, and help with transport. Partnership here is simply community, organized around dogs.

The next dog is waiting to be seen.

Join ~9,000 people who believe a dog’s life is worth a share, a ride, a couch for a few weeks — or a home for good. Help us reach 27,000, so even more dogs get seen in time.
